Friendsgiving/Thanksgiving Dinner
3rd Annual Friendsgiving Dinner!
The Albuquerque Newcomers Club invites you to our 3rd annual Friendsgiving dinner, to be held on Thursday, November 26th at 1 pm, at the home of Sharon Blum, 6718 Oersted Road NE, Rio Rancho. This delicious, traditional Thanksgiving dinner will include turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, salad, rolls, and of course pumpkin pie, and a glass of wine for the holiday toast! Please BYOB if you'd like a beverage other than wine, and if there's a dish, a family tradition of yours, that really makes it Thanksgiving for you, please feel free to bring that along too. For sure you will meet Aunt Jeannette's Orange Sweet Potatoes!
The price is $20 per person, same as last year, and the dinner is open to couples, singles and friends, whoever is looking for a place to go on Thanksgiving. You can register and make your payment online, by Friday, November 20th, or contact Maggy Pachay (maggypachay@gmail.com) Attendance is limited to 20 people and filled up fast last year, so you might want to register sooner rather than later.
Allergy alert! If you have food allergies or sensitivities, please let Sharon or Maggy know. Also, Sharon has a small dog who loves to socialize, so heads-up if you are allergic to dogs.
As you can imagine, this is a big project -- we will be eating and drinking from real china plates and crystal glass, no Dixie or Chinet for our holiday guests! So we are looking for a couple of volunteers to arrive an hour early to help with set-up and a few more to stay an hour later (till 5:30 or 6) to help with clean-up.
